So tomorrow I'm going to a yoga workshop called 'Do you know your asana from your elbow?' run by Andrew McGonigle, which is all about anatomy and yoga, something I am hoping I will find very interesting, as at the moment it's kind of what I want to focus on in my own teaching practice down the line. Andrew is a doctor who became a yoga teacher. He teaches hot (hatha, I think) yoga at triyoga and teaches on a lot of anatomy courses around town.
It's co-hosted by a woman called Catherine Annis who is from the Scaravelli school of yoga - not quite sure exactly what that means yet, but she's also doing workshops later in the summer about fascia and psoas muscles that I'm going to book for if I enjoy this one, so she sounds like my kind of lady. Also, Lily got very excited when I mentioned her name, so that must be a good omen...
Anyway, these are some things he has to say about shoulders:
I am planning to take notes (I have bought a 'yoga journal' notebook from my beloved Kikki K to write about workshops in) so will report back once it's all done.
I have the day off tomorrow so will be hooking up with some hatha, and generally chilling out. Much needed.
